John Melchior Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, was an Italian Catholic priest and educator born on August 16, 1815, in Piedmont, Italy. He dedicated his life to the education and betterment of poor, homeless, and neglected youth. He founded the Salesians of Don Bosco and is the patron saint of youth, students, and editors. Canonised in 1934 by Pope Pius XI.
